Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy hosted thrilling semifinal action as Muhammad Yahya, Hamza Ali Rizwan, Hajra Sohail, and Bismel Zia advanced to the U-18 finals at the Bank of Punjab Junior National Tennis Championship 2026, held at the Nishtar Park Sports Complex.

The championship continued to showcase Pakistan’s emerging tennis talent across multiple age categories, with intense matches and impressive performances from young players.


Boys U-18 Semifinals

In the Boys U-18 singles semifinals:

  • Muhammad Yahya advanced after Umer Jawad retired while trailing 2-6, 4-2.
  • Hamza Ali Rizwan booked his place in the final with a hard-fought 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 win over Haziq Areejo.

In the Boys U-18 doubles event:

  • Yahya and Zohaib Afzal Malik reached the final after a dominant 6-1, 6-1 victory.
  • Hamza Ali Rizwan and Omer Jawad also advanced with another strong 6-1, 6-1 win.

Girls U-18 Final Line-Up

The Girls U-18 final will be played between Hajra Sohail and Bismel Zia.

  • Hajra Sohail defeated Eesha Rabbi 6-0, 6-0 in a one-sided semifinal.
  • Bismel Zia overcame Khadija Khalil 6-2, 6-3 to secure her spot in the final.

U-14 Category Action

In Boys U-14 singles:

  • Shayan Afridi beat Rashid Ali Bachani 4-1, 4-1.
  • Muaz defeated M. Ayan 5-4, 4-2.

In Girls U-14 semifinals, Khadija and Hajra moved into the final after strong performances.

In Boys U-14 doubles:

  • Muaz and Ayan defeated Zeeshan and Hanzla 4-1, 4-1.
  • Yawar and Daniyal secured victory over their opponents 5-3, 4-0.

U-12 Category Results

In Boys U-12 singles:

  • Ayan defeated Daniyal 4-0, 4-0.
  • Faizan beat Ashtar Alam Khan 4-2, 4-0.

In Girls U-12 semifinals, Eman Shahbaz and Shahnoor Umer progressed to the final.

In Boys U-12 doubles:

  • Faizan and Salaar won 4-0, 4-2.
  • Daniyal and Riyan advanced with a 4-0, 4-1 victory.

Closing Ceremony Update

Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar is expected to attend the closing ceremony as chief guest.
