Kazakh Coaches Arrive in Pakistan to Revive Boxing
Pakistan Boxing Federation has entered a new era of international collaboration as two elite boxing coaches from Kazakhstan arrived in Islamabad to help revive and strengthen the sport in Pakistan.
The initiative marks the official start of a major Pakistan–Kazakhstan partnership focused on modern coaching methods, athlete development, and knowledge-sharing programmes aimed at raising Pakistan’s boxing standards to international levels.
Training Hub Launched at Islamabad Sports Complex
The programme officially began at the Dostyq Sports Centre inside the Pakistan Sports Complex, where young boxers will now receive structured training under the guidance of international experts.
The collaboration is designed to improve:
- Coaching quality and technical training
- Athlete performance and conditioning
- Exposure to international boxing systems
- Preparation for global competitions
Leadership Calls It a Historic Step
Nasir Ijaz Tung described the initiative as a historic milestone for Pakistani boxing, saying it will open new opportunities for athletes and coaches.
He was joined by Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin and PBF Secretary Irfan Younis, who also highlighted the importance of the partnership.
MoU Strengthens Sports Cooperation
The development follows a recent Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan and Kazakhstan aimed at expanding cooperation in sports, particularly boxing. The agreement also focuses on youth empowerment, cultural exchange, and strengthening ties between the two countries.
Officials said the partnership will allow Pakistani athletes to benefit from Kazakhstan’s internationally successful boxing system, which is known for producing world-class fighters.
