Top Seeds Advance as BoP Junior National Tennis Championship Gains Momentum

The Bank of Punjab (BoP) Junior National Tennis Championship 2026 continued with thrilling quarterfinal matches at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy, located within the Nishtar Park Sports Complex. Several of Pakistan’s most promising young tennis players delivered outstanding performances to secure places in the semifinals.

Boys Under-18 Quarterfinals

In the Boys Under-18 category, top players showcased their skills with impressive victories:

• M. Yahya defeated Ahmad Fareed Yawar 6-1, 6-1.
• Omer Jawad overcame Shayan Afridi in a competitive match, winning 7-5, 6-4.
• Hamza Ali Rizwan secured a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 victory over Rashid Ali Bachani.
• Haziq Areejo advanced with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 win against Ahmad Khuda Bakhsh.

Girls Under-18 Quarterfinals

The Girls Under-18 event saw another dominant performance from Khadija Khalil, who defeated Shahnoor Umer 6-0, 6-0. Hajra Sohail also booked her place in the semifinals with a convincing 6-1, 6-1 victory over Aleezay Maryam.

Under-14 Competitions

In the Boys Under-14 singles category, M. Muaz, M. Aayan, Shayan Afridi, and Rashid Ali Bachani all advanced to the semifinals after impressive quarterfinal wins.

The Girls Under-14 competition also featured strong performances, with Khadija Khalil, Aleezay Maryam, Hajra Sohail, and Eman Shahbaz progressing to the next stage.

Under-12 Categories

The Boys Under-12 division produced several exciting contests, with M. Aayan, M. Daniyal, M. Faizan, and Ashtar Alam securing semifinal berths.

In the Girls Under-12 category, Shahreen Umer and Wajeeha Fatima recorded convincing victories to keep their championship hopes alive.

The tournament continues to highlight the growing talent in Pakistan’s junior tennis circuit. Punjab Lawn Tennis Association Senior Executive Vice President Rashid Malik praised the ongoing support of The Bank of Punjab for promoting tennis development in the country.
